About me:

For a dozen years, from the mid 1990's to the mid 2000's, I worked as a photojournalist in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. I had work published in periodicals such as The New York Times, Sports Illustrated, The Washington Post and USA Today.

In 2005 I began a new career in real estate in New York City.

I attended Syracuse University where I majored in geography. I won numerous awards from media organizations including the National Press Photographers Association, the Society for News Design and the Society of Professional Journalists.

On the following pages you will find my portfolios as they were in 2005.

BONUS CONTENT:

Here are some "behind the scenes" photos of the 2002 Belmont Stakes, which I photographed for ESPN the Magazine, along with two other photographers and two assistants. (nothing was published as War Emblem, who was expected to be the first horse to win the Triple Crown in 24 years, stubled right out of the gate and finished in 8th place).

A race brfore the Stakes.

This was about half the equipment we brought (and Sports Illustrated used 50 cameras).

(not me) The transition from film to digitial was occuring for most publications that year, thus the mix of film and digitial cameras. While we photographed the race on film, these photos were taken on a Nikon D1H.

(also not me, but the EOS 1N on the right was mine).

View from where I would photograph the race.
